In July 2010 we opened our Teaching and Learning Centre.  This is a specialist facility which cost £400,000 and comprises of two learning areas which can be converted into a single space for larger events, office facilities, toilets and a reception area.  It is a free standing building based on the site of Bothal Middle School.

The purpose of the Centre is to enhance the quality of learning in the Trust through:

Giving enhanced provision and deep learning experiences to identified, under-performing parts of the cohort;

Bringing in specialist teaching staff to provide outstanding learning experiences;

Tackling the issues of school transfer in the middle of a Key Stage by phasing that transfer over a period of time and allowing pupils to experience their destination school at an earlier stage;

Developing staff through the CPD opportunities in the project, including the engagement of Northumbria University’s Education Department

A well equipped Conference centre.
